2 Ways To Get Whiter Teeth

Dentist Blog

When you have a big event coming up in your life, you want to look your best. There are a lot of things that you can do to make sure that you look good. If one of the things you want to do is to make sure that your teeth look white and unstained, then you have options as to how to do that.

White Strips

One option you have is to go with whitening strips. These strips are a product that you can pick up at your local grocery store or pharmacy. They are usually located in with the toothpaste and toothbrushes. The way that they work is that you put them on your teeth for a certain amount of time. The strips are loaded with bleaching agents that will help to whiten and brighten your teeth. While these products can give you some whitening and brightening, they aren't going to give you as much as you might like. They would be better used as a maintenance product in between professional whitenings.

Professional Whitening

If you are interested in getting the best whitening results possible, then you should visit your dentist. If they don't do bleaching, then they will be able to refer you to a cosmetic dentist who does. The dentist who does your whitening will talk to you about your various options before they start, and the two of you will come up with a level of whiteness to aim for. One option you have when you are getting your teeth whitened is to go with a special bleaching gel that your dentist will use in their office. With this gel, the dentist will put it on your teeth and then shine a special UV light on your teeth. This light will activate the gel and help you get the results that you are looking for. Generally, this treatment is good for deep discoloration and staining, things which would be hard to get out in other ways. The dentist may also give you some bleaching gel and trays that you can use at home. The products for your home use aren't going to be as powerful as the ones that your dentist uses, but they will augment any treatments that they use in their office.

If you have a big event coming up, like a wedding or high school reunion, you want to make sure you look your best. Getting your teeth whitened can help with that. Contact a dental office like Alliance Family Dental for more information and assistance.

Understanding Dental Problems

Do you have "bad teeth"? I do. Ever since I was a kid, every checkup turns up a number of issues ranging from cavities to dental fractures. It has always been frustrating to keep my smile in decent shape, which is one of the reasons I started focusing on understanding different dental problems. I wanted to know what I was getting into when I visited the doctor, so I began focusing on learning as much as I could. I wanted to create this blog all about dentistry so that other people could find out what to expect when they head to the dentist. Check it out!
